It's the Little Things...
Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror?
Not while you brush your teeth or while you're applying your makeup, but really look at yourself.
Look at your skin.
Your stretch marks.
Have you ever taken the moment to really appreciate the time God took to create you?
One of the prayers I've been praying heavy lately is that I want to see God in my day to day life. I've seen God do big, amazing things, but I want to see His goodness in the little things.
One day this week while I was getting ready to go to work, I stopped and really looked at myself.
The curve of my eyes.
The pores in my face.
The way I filled out my clothes.
Then when I was on my way to work, I really took in the scenery on my route. While I sat at a light, I took in the grey skies and the rain filled clouds.
While at work, I had a day filled with problems. Normally, this would've overwhelmed me, but this day, I felt at peace. I didn't let my nerves get to me. I took each interaction head on and handled them like a boss.
When I got home later that night, I sat and I just thought back over my life. As different situations played over in my head, God showed me His fingerprints in each of those situations.
God answered my prayers.
His ability to point out the day to day blessings that I take for granted humbled me.
So as you go through this season in your life, I encourage you to ask God to show Himself to you. Sometimes we get so caught up in the regularity of our day to day lives that we completely miss God, then look at Him like He's crazy. Like He's the one not paying attention.
Ask Him to reveal Himself so you'll know Him when you see Him.
