I Am Triumphant.

I work up at 6:30 am.

I read my devotional and prayed.

Went to work.

Worked a 12 hour day.

Cried on my way home because of the overwhelmed feelings I can't seem to shake.

Got in the house.

Shampooed, deep conditioned, and twisted my hair.

Got in the bed and started scrolling down my fb feed and came across this story. It's about how Maxine Waters and April Ryan have been disrespected by two men who I still can't figure out how they got to where they are.

Brittany Packnett (who I love and you need to follow) was just as annoyed as I was about this, so she created the #BlackWomenAtWork hashtag on Twitter to address it.

When she was interviewed about it, she said, "They (Maxine Waters and April Ryan) are to be respected, just like every other black woman who rises each day to contribute to this society in ways that are all-too-often taken for granted ...Black women are more than just our woes, we are triumphant.”

I smiled.

This is just a moment, but I will not be taken for granted. I will be respected, valued, and I won't allow others actions to get the best of me.

I am triumphant. I already knew that. I just needed a reminder.

Now, I'm here to remind you too.

You are strong.

You are appreciated.

You are triumphant.

And we're going to get through this together.

Love y'all ♥️
