This Year Has Been...
Around this time every year, I pick a word or phrase that is supposed to represent what I want my new year to be like. This year's phrase was:
When the year would get heavy, I would look at this picture and remember what I wanted for myself or what God had showed me that was for me. I'm not going to say that I always made the right decisions, but these words definitely kept me from making additional bad ones lol.
This year has been an extremely emotional one for me. I experienced a lot of heartache and headaches, but I also had a lot of triumphs. If nothing else, I've learned how strong and resilient I am. I'm thankful for the ability to be able to celebrate my wins and go over my lessons so I don't have to redo those tests. I suggest you do the same. Ask yourself some questions:
1. What did I excel at this year?
2. What could I have done better?
3. What am I leaving in 2016?
4. What can I build upon in 2017?
5. What do I expect to be different in 2017?
6. What steps am I going to take to make sure I accomplish this?
Being completely honest with yourself about where you are is the only way for you to get where you want to be.
I always pray about what my word or phrase should be and God always comes through. When I ordered my purity ring a few weeks ago (go read that post if you haven't) I noticed that they had free engraving. I kept thinking about what it should say until I saw, 'You can do this'.
It was simple.
Straight to the point.
And extremely relevant for where I am right now, so it will be my phrase for 2017.
Am I the only one who does this? What is your word or phrase for 2017? Let me know in the comments 😊.
